ExperimentFM is locally owned, independently managed, non-profit, non-commercial, and community-powered.
ExperimentFM is dedicated to bringing voices to the Ames radio dial which the community otherwise wouldn't hear. The Experiment does this via music and via insightful public affairs programming.
ExperimentFM's music is dominated by an eclectic mix of music, much of which you won't be able to find anywhere else on the radio dial. Blocks of jazz, blues, folk, acoustic, and ambient music programming find their home on ExperimentFM.
And, yes, ExperimentFM will play local music.
ExperimentFM's news, information and discussion programming includes such nationally syndicated programs as
Democracy Now!,
Free Speech Radio News, and
Alternative Radio. ExperimentFM is Ames' only source for these programs on the radio; you won't hear these unique viewpoints and quality discussions anywhere else in Ames.
Listener input is strongly solicited! Tell the station what you think about the music and programming, where you're listening from, the quality of your radio reception, and if there is anything ExperimentFM can do to further improve your radio listening experience.
